The PHSC PLC group of companies have a long tradition of supporting local causes through sponsorship and community involvement. Below is a selection of projects in which our companies have been involved:

QLM has donated £250 to sponsor the travelling shirt for the Welsh Women’s Senior Hockey Team, who are about to depart to Russia to compete in the World Cup Qualifying Tournament (a tournament second only to the Olympics).

Canterbury Oast Trust

Instead of sending Christmas cards, PHSC plc makes a donation each year to Canterbury Oast Trust (COT). This is a charity supporting people with learning disabilities in Kent and East Sussex. COT creates opportunities for those who would not be able to look after themselves outside a safe and supportive environment. Quality of life is enhanced by involvement in a real choice of programmes, many of which are in COT’s own self help ventures.

When COT launched the “Great Kent Challenge” toraise funding to finish and fir out its function hall, the Falcons Centre, PHSC donated the funds necessary to purchase certain fire safety materials.

Kent Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus

The Kent Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (KASBAH) was founded by a group of parents of children with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus in 1966 with a desire to help other families in circumstances similar to their own.

PHSC plc have supported KASBAH projects and their fundraising events, however, the main link between us and KASBAH is via PHSC plc non-executive director Graham Webb MBE who was born with Spina Bifida. In a personal capacity Graham and his family have given substantial assistance to the charity, both in terms of finance and their ongoing involvement and support at grass roots level.

Young People Littleport

Based in Cambridgeshire, YPL started out as a youth centre in a derelict building but has now evolved into a community centre. Their aims are to assist and develop people regardless of age and disabilities. This is achieved by providing informal educational opportunities and leisure activities to develop mental, physical, social and spiritual needs.

YPL had acquired some remote controlled racing cars and needed sand-filled firehose to form the safety barrier for the track. The original source of funding for the firehose couldn’t deliver, so YPL had to try and raise funding elsewhere. PHSC agreed to match the monies already collected, enabling the safety barrier to be obtained.
